Uncut full slabs and cutting to size, for architects and contractors sourcing raw material for their own projects.
In some projects what is needed is not a finished countertop but the material itself. Architectural practices with their own installation teams, furniture workshops and contractors come to us frequently for full slabs or for pieces cut to size. This page is for that group of work.
A full slab is a block sliced at the factory, generally 2 cm or 3 cm thick and around 3x2 metres in size. The size of the slab is a significant advantage: a kitchen island or a table top can be taken out in one piece, with no joint required. What has to be looked at when choosing a slab is, as much as colour, the slab's own story: the direction and density of the vein, and where it runs within the slab. Two slabs of the same stone give two very different results, which is why we recommend selecting slabs in person rather than from a photograph.
Sequential slabs are a particularly important matter. When a block is sliced, consecutive slabs are almost identical to one another; the vein continues from one slab to the next. Book-matched installation, mirror symmetry and pattern continuity across large surfaces are possible only with sequential slabs. The slabs for a large job should therefore be reserved at the same time; if you ask for the same stone a month later, the consecutive slices may have gone to someone else.
In the cutting-to-size service we cut the slab to your dimensions on a CNC bridge saw. This makes two differences compared with hand cutting: corner radii and internal cut-outs come out clean, and the cutting tolerance stays at the millimetre level. Operations such as sink cut-outs, tap holes, chamfers and edge polishing can also be carried out at the same stage, so the piece arrives on site ready to install.
The slab examples in this catalogue are in travertine and grey tones. Because which stones are in stock and the availability of sequential slabs both vary, we do not keep that information on the page; for current stock and dimensions, reaching us through the quotation form is the best route. Stating the type of stone, the thickness and the approximate square metres in your enquiry will speed up our reply.

Travertine · Travertine
A travertine slab cut perpendicular to the bedding (vein cut). Cut to measure for wall cladding, countertops and table work.
Marble · Black
A table top with exotic beige and golden veining over a black ground. Because every slab yields a unique pattern, slab selection is central to the work.
